A systemic herbicide is a garden product used to kill unwanted garden weeds

Systemic herbicides incorporate a very powerful systemic action that has a dramatic effect on any weed with which they come into contact. Absorbed by the weed's leaves, the systemic herbicide starts to circulate inside the plant and reaches its roots. So, even though, outwardly, there might not be many signs that weeds are affected, apart from some yellowing of shoots and leaves, rest assured that the systemic herbicide is doing its job on the plant.

Roundup Weedkiller FAQs

Q

Why should we control weeds?

A Click here for the answer

Weeds may be unwanted for a number of reasons: they might be unsightly, or crowd out or restrict light to more desirable plants or use limited nutrients from the soil. They can be home to and spread pests and diseases that can degrade the quality of crop or horticultural plants.

Some weeds are a nuisance because they have thorns or prickles, some have chemicals that cause skin irritation and allergies or are hazardous if eaten, or have parts that come off and attach to fur or clothes.

Some weeds can severely damage paths and walkways which could become hazardous to those walking on them and if left unchecked are very expensive to repair. This is why local authorities are keen to control weeds in public areas.
